I found this online. it's awesome.

The Holy Alphabet by: Author Unknown, Source Unknown

Although things are not perfect
Because of trial or pain
Continue in thanksgiving
Do not begin to blame
Even when the times are hard
Fierce winds are bound to blow
God is forever able
Hold on to what you know
Imagine life without His love
Joy would cease to be
Keep thanking Him for all the things
Love imparts to thee
Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command
Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude
Xalting God most high
Yes, there'll be good times and yes some will be bad, but...
Zion waits in glory....where none are ever sad!

"I AM Too blessed to be stressed!" The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything. Love and peace be with you forever, Amen.

pretty awesome. :)

Today we seem to think that the power of obedience is gratitude, rather than faith. "Christ did alot for you, be happy for what He has done, He's done so much for you, now live for Him" This is one of the errors of our time. I see it in this poem: "Because of trial or pain Continue in thanksgiving[or gratitude]" "Keep thanking Him for all the things Love imparts to thee[again, gratitude]" "Move out of "Camp Complaining"
No weapon that is known
On earth can yield the power
Praise can do alone[im guessing for what he's already done not what he will do]
Quit looking at the future
Redeem the time at hand
Start every day with worship
To "thank" is a command"" [This section especially, makes the answer to be gratitude for what God has done in the past the means for victory] "Until we see Him coming
Victorious in the sky
We'll run the race with gratitude" The basic message of this poem seems to communicate that although there are trials gratitude for past, bygone grace is the answer for today's obedience. I believe that this teaching leaves many people miserable. I should probably devote a section on my blog about this. Faith in Future grace is the power of Obedience, not gratitude for grace that has already come and gone. Gratitude is essential, but the power for risk taking, love, and obedience is faith in future grace.

I don't know what you believe or had in mind in posting this, I wasn't saying anything about what you believe, just about the poem itself

Is the awe in the power behind obediance not stemmed out of gratitude with the past and the drive to continue obeidently faith in the future? Not to say that the only reason to have faith is because of God's faithfulness in the past--but we're human, and finite and PEA-BRAINED, and God gives us the examples of the past to help us understand the future--to know He has been faithful and that He never changes is a huge encouragement to me and I don't think that there is anything wrong with taking comfort in that. To me... it seems like comparing apples and oranges. They're both fruit.
