yesterday was good. went to church. listened to brent preach. got totally embarrases because i had to stand in front of the church AGAIN! and then we (the jr.highers) went to the Hambletons and had a BARbeCue! had some good food, some fun games, got to hang out with some of the girls...and i've been noticing that one of the girls that usually doesn't give a ripp about anything was actually trying to step out of her "everythings stupid" zone and she actually tried to have fun! she was LAUGHING!!!! :) it was good to see. and i got alot of excericise by playing football. then went to highschool youth group. watched the worship team get ready. then went and played bump with all the highschoolers. then worshiped!!!! that was the highlight of my day. i actually got to worship God...on a sunday night....WITHOUT getting interrupted by the jr.high kids. wow. that was nice. :) aahhh....anyways. then i talked to david jon and ben for a bit.....then went HOME and BED!!!!! :) GOOD DAY i say!!!

spiritually, the Lord has been working over time in me. the other night i opened my Bible and i decided that before i read anything, that I would pray and ask God to show me something new about Himself. and i did...and He came through and showed me something new about Him. it was awesome. let me share with you. i opened to the book of John and read the part where Jesus feeds the five thousand. and normally...when i come to this part of the Bible...i say to myself "hey...what is new in this part of the story of Christ. He feeds 5000 people food. it's like an annoying repetative story. i already know what's going to happen!" but this time it was different, because i was expecting that God was going to share with me something completely new!!! so i read it. and this is what i read.

(JN 6:1) After these things Jesus went away to the other side of the sea of Galilee, which is `the sea' of Tiberias. And a great multitude followed him, because they beheld the signs which he did on them that were sick. And Jesus went up into the mountain, and there he sat with his disciples. Now the passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand. Jesus therefore lifting up his eyes, and seeing that a great multitude cometh unto him, saith unto Philip, Whence are we to buy bread, that these may eat? And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do. Philip answered him, Two hundred shillings' worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one may take a little. One of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, saith unto him, There is a lad here, who hath five barley loaves, and two fishes: but what are these among so many? Jesus said, Make the people sit down. Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. Jesus therefore took the loaves; and having given thanks, he distributed to them that were set down; likewise also of the fishes as much as they would. And when they were filled, he saith unto his disciples, Gather up the broken pieces which remain over, that nothing be lost. So they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with broken pieces from the five barley loaves, which remained over unto them that had eaten. When therefore the people saw the sign which he did, they said, This is of a truth the prophet that cometh into the world.(15) Jesus therefore perceiving that they were about to come and take him by force, to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain himself alone.

and reading this the Lord showed me a few things.

1)Jesus was compassionate...enough to think ahead on where He was going to lead these people. a nice grassy place large enough to hold ALL the people.

2)Jesus was challenging. He constantly put His deciples to the test.

3)He was humble. the jews wanted to make Him king. (and anyone in there right mind would want to be king.) but He went away from them.

so...that's what was given to me. i was just so excited about it, that i had to write about it.
