tonight i ate like there was no tomorrow! cramming food into every crevase of my mouth. picking out the chewy fatty pices and savoring, the crisp, oily flavor of home-cooked TACO'S!!!
anyways. i decided to hop online and create a post describing tonight. it was amazing. NOT...the jr.high choir or the two bands (they were ok...) but the performance aftarwards, is what blew me away! but before i describe it, let me begin at the beginning. today i spent al day shopping with my mombecause it's her 17th anniversary in a few days and her and my dad and my cousin are heading towards the beach area! (which means i have my house all to my self!!!! PARTEEEE!!!!!)
so...when i got home at like 6:30, Lanelle calls and says "HEY! i'm picking you up in 1\2 an hour! it's Kats last Jr.High Choir Concert!...(not in those exact words.). so i throw on a skirt and a shirt and these nice black shoes. threw my hair in pony-tail (i hate that word...but nithing else comes to mind...) and attempted to put in these plasticy\metal earings. painfully, because of scar tissue in my right earlobe...and i was set...in like 5 minutes. sooo...eventually lanelle came and we were sitting by Astelle and her husband (mike?). and in between me and this random lady was an empty seat... well, with her purse on it. so we watch the choir perform. they were good i suppose. then when they were done Kat came to sit by us so i had to move into the purses spot. and then the band came up. the lower class band. and i couldn't help but notice that the lady sitting next to me was laughing HYSTERICALLY through the whole performance! it was so funny to watch i began to snicker myself. and the lady was such a size, that her whole body vibrated the chairs next to hers...MINE! and her whole body shook! HOLY COW!!!!
anyways.so that was a sligh distraction. after they performed, the older kids got up and played. they were a little bit better, and i noticed the woman didn't jiggle as much.and then, Mr.Christensen (?) made an announcement, that another group of very talented musicians would be playing afterwards, and that he hoped everyone would stay and listen. me and lanelle decided to. and the last song that the band played, all these old people joined them! it was awesome. they ranged from like 40 to "100" years old. and they had almost all, been playing since Jr.High!
So after that last song, the jr.highers flooded off the stage and even more old people piled on! they were tremendous. Old people are so fascinating. i find myself always wondering what they've been through, what they've seen and what they were like when they were my age! there was this one black old guy with this thick white beard. he played these huge drums and had that one thing that sounds like a horse AND h e also got to blow a whistle! he was AWESOME!!!
there was a lady who played the picalo. lots of french horns. all-in-all! it was amazing! :)
anyways. that was my night.
