i've been reading in Hebrews lately, and lo and behold, the Lord has left me to fend for myself in this book. i've actually been understanding alot of what i've been reading...

Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

for those of you who apply...you remember scuba diving? "Purging"!!!?
i don't know how i can apply it to this verse, but the verse it self is awesome because it's talking about Jesus!

Heb 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Heb 1:5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

i like how Hebrews starts out. it's focused on Christ, telling us how Christ was and always will be Higher than the angels!

Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
Heb 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

yah.

Purging, that was clearing our breathing equipment of water while we were under watter, wasn't it? Id so, then the purging was forcing air into the mouthpiece, pushing water out completely. I like the image you put in my head of Christ. If we allowed water into the mouthpiece, we'd probably drown, and while under water, we can blow the water out with our own mouths, we had to use the BC, right? Or am I off track?

you could purge out the water two ways. one by forcfully blowing out the water from your mouth piece or by pressing the button on the mouth piece. sometimes you had to do both...
